Diverticular Disease and Nuts

Long held opinion on the intake of high-fiber foods such as nuts, corn and popcorn as being bad for people with diverticulosis may be dashed. Recently published studies conducted by Dr. Lisa Strate reported that in more than 47,000 men followed with diverticular disease since 1986 there was no untoward effect in consumption of nuts and corn. Matter of fact there were noted benefits and reduction in the hazard ration by consuming these healthy fiber foods.
